Things have been quiet around here lately. I finished my semester at school (4 B's... not too happy about that!) and have been working on organizing things around my house. Between planning my wedding last year and school, this is the first real down time I've had in over a year. I've also been doing some shopping lately. I bought the Chambray shirts with the intention of returning one, especially since I already own the Chambray Popover from J. Crew. I've ended up keeping both since they are very flattering. I've added two more pairs of Matt Bernsons to my collection. I'm such a hoarder, but he makes a fine shoe. The gold oxfords were a steal on eBay... I snagged them for $11.50 plus shipping. In fact, the only thing I paid full price for was the silver necklace. I love a good bargain. I should be done buying clothes for a while now, I've covered most things I want or need for the time being.

Our weather has been all over the place lately, but since I
am currently planning my summer vacation and shopping for summer clothes, naturally
my thoughts have turned to my warm weather beauty routine.

I live in North Carolina, and the summers can be very humid.
Makeup is a must for me. I’m trying to look more effortless lately, I suppose I want to look put together rather than made-up. I love
tinted moisturizer, and surprisingly prefer the new one from Nars to my old
stand-by, Laura Mericer. I love Nars blush, and though I have been using Orgasm
exclusively for 6 years, I plan to pick up Gaiety with my next Sephora order. The
lip gloss and eyeliner from Urban Decay are must haves year round. I especially
love Bourbon my brown eyes.

I have never been into jewelry. My mom loves
big, colorful, opulent, over-the-top gemstone jewelry. She is always wearing
rings, earring, necklaces, bracelets, multiples of each. She never takes them
off, though she constantly changes what she is wearing. And in the tradition of
daughters rebelling against their mothers, I have been fiercely anti-adornment my
whole life.

Until recently.

I have understood the importance of earrings, the occasional
necklace and so on. I have made a few purchases over the years, but on a recent
Sunday I spent hours going through my collection to realize I really don’t have
much in the way of everyday jewelry. I like delicate, dainty pieces and I am slowly building up my collection. Here are some pieces I love. Some I
already own, some I want.

I remember, when I was younger, making two journal entries, and never touching them again. Same thing with blogs. I've started weight loss, wedding, and fashion blogs. I've made a few posts, never stuck with it. Life gets busy. I procrastinate.

I got married last December and just finally made a new e-mail address (See? I procrastinate!) with my new name. I figured it would be easier to start following blogs I enjoy under the e-mail which led me to think maybe I'll start a new blog too.

My interests are widely varied. I love fashion, cooking, art, television, movies, music, home decorating, crafts, travel.... you get the picture. I'm trying to live a more healthy life, and I have a long way to go on my weight loss journey. So, I plan to use this place simply to talk about my life.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12902159302248051062noreply@blogger.com2
